Hokkaido University actively promotes industry-academia collaboration activities related to SDGs in order to return research results to society.
In addition to our traditional basic mission of education and research, we have positioned a more direct contribution to society as our "third mission," and are working squarely on industry-academia collaboration.

• Faculty of Fisheries Sciences, Bifuka Town, and SoftBank Corp. conclude an industry-academia-government collaboration agreement for next-generation sturgeon farming.
• Hokkaido University, Furano City, and Oracle Japan Co., Ltd. conclude an "Agreement on Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration for Smart City Promotion in Furano City, Hokkaido"
• Faculty of Engineering and Hokkaido Gas Co., Ltd. conclude a partnership agreement with the aim of "creating a comfortable society through the optimization of energy and the environment."
• Hokkaido University Institute for the Advancement of Sustainability and Sumitomo Corporation conclude a partnership agreement
