The concept of the official logo is “the continuous flow of time”

Sustainability Weeks has designated several weeks each year from 2007 to 2017 as `` Sustainability Weeks'' in order to promote research and education that contributes to the realization of a ``sustainable society.'' We have held intensive themed symposiums, workshops, and exhibitions in a short period of time, engaging in discussions for a better future with researchers, students, and citizens from around the world. In particular, taking advantage of Hokkaido University's characteristics as a research-oriented and comprehensive university, the agenda covered a wide range of academic fields, covering almost all the issues necessary for discussing a sustainable society.

From 2023, events that contribute to solving global issues (achieving the SDGs) that our university hosts or cooperates with will be designated as Sustainability Weeks projects.
