The concept of the official logo is “the continuous flow of time”
In order to promote research and education that contributes to the realization of a "sustainable society," a few weeks were designated as "Sustainability Weeks" every year from 2007 to 2017, and Sustainability Weeks, workshops, exhibitions, etc. were held intensively in a short period of time on the theme of various issues facing humanity, and discussions were held for a better future with researchers, students, and citizens from around the world. In particular, taking advantage of Hokkaido University's characteristics as a research-based, comprehensive university, the topics covered all academic fields and covered almost all issues necessary for discussing a sustainable society.
Starting in 2023, events and activities hosted or supported by our university that aim to solve global issues (achieve the SDGs) will be positioned as Sustainability Weeks projects.
