In School of Dental Medicine, the curriculum has been revised to enhance learning in a more sustainable and spiral manner. We aim to realize the SDGs by creating a learning system that allows students to take what they have learned in junior high school and high school in a more diverse, universal and practical way. Frontier courses offered in the 3rd and 5th years include professionalism, communication studies, community medicine, disaster medicine, public health, internships at companies, tours of research facilities, dispatch to hospitals and nursing homes, etc. In addition, we plan short-term overseas study programs in collaboration with Nitobe College, and provide various learning opportunities to acquire the ability to practice the SDGs throughout a lifetime.
In addition, School of Dental Medicine aims to provide learning opportunities based on the SDGs, such as setting up a “hands-on exhibition” at the Hokkaido University Museum and hands-on learning for elementary school students so that elementary and junior high school students will be interested in dental education. .
