The 26th JASID Spring Conference
The 26th Spring Conference will be held on June 21st at the Hokkaido University Sapporo Campus. The Executive Committee Chair of the conference is Professor Takako Nabeshima Research Faculty of Media and Communication Hokkaido University. The theme of the conference is "Good Governance for Inclusive Development: Proposal from Hokkaido." In the plenary, we will discuss the food security, natural environment, and indigenous peoples' reality. These are the issues that we confront in Hokkaido. The researchers, practitioners and indigenous people will explain the history of Hokkaido development from their own point of view to verify the sources of problems and the prospect for the inclusive and autonomous development. Based to such a theme, we are planning an excursion to visit the Ainu village “Kotan” and listen to the traditional chief and youth groups. We are trying also to make a half-day course at Sapporo. Please enjoy the nature, culture, unique development, and delicious foods of Hokkaido.
