Professor Taro Yamauchi
Affiliation: Faculty of Health Sciences (Department of Health Sciences, School of Medicine)
If you are interested, I recommend this subject! :Global health, human ecology
What led me to study: I conduct fieldwork in developing countries and conduct research on people's lifestyles, health, and adaptation to the living environment. Since I was a child, I have been interested in the society created by humans and the physical functions of humans as individuals, and this has led to my current research. In the past, I thought it was important as a researcher to collect objective data and compile it into a paper. However, now I would like to give back the results of my research to society. We value the attitude of ``learning from the field'' by maintaining close communication with local people.
Professor Yamauchi's research is introduced in ``Lecture by Hokkaido University faculty members, ``Creating water, toilet, and sanitation systems with children and local communities.'' *Move to Yume Navi.
