If you are interested, I recommend this subject! :Oncology, vascular biology
What led me to study: My first encounter with my research topic, angiogenesis, was when my husband and I studied abroad in the United States. When our twins were about one year old, my husband joined a research lab at Harvard Children's Hospital, and luckily, four months later, a vacancy opened up and I became a researcher. At that time, Dr. Volkmann, known as a pioneer in angiogenesis, was active and trained me. When I discovered that cancerous vascular endothelial cells are different from normal vascular endothelial cells, I became interested in research, and even after returning to Japan, I continued my research without returning to become a clinician. When I carry out research with my colleagues, I get results that exceed my expectations, and I keep repeating the process of solving new questions.
Professor Hida's research is introduced in ``Lecture by Hokkaido University Faculty Members: ``Controlling Cancer from Blood Vessels!'''' *Move to Yume Navi.
