Hokkaido University Global Station for Indigenous Studies and Cultural Diversity (GSI) will hold the ``GSI Symposium ``Indigenous People and Museums'' on December 3rd.

What kind of existence does a museum have for indigenous peoples? Experienced people from both Australia and Japan will share examples of changing roles, challenges, and initiatives. Indigenous researchers from the University of Melbourne and the Australian National University will be on stage, and a panel discussion with Japanese Indigenous people is also planned. We hope that this will be an opportunity to consider the future of museums.

This symposium will include simultaneous interpretation in Japanese and English, so anyone who is interested is welcome to attend.
