10 national university science faculties, including Hokkaido University, declare that they will work together to address the issue of gender balance.
Two points of the statement
- Provide environments and supports for students in order to make them feel comfortable in their studies and research, regardless of gender, nationality, or other attributes.
- Provide sufficient information about university life at the Faculty of Science and career paths after graduation in order to help alleviate concerns about studying at the Faculty of Science.
Moreover, as one of the initiatives in line with this statement, they have launched a new website, “Science Navi,” to promote the appeal of science to students, parents, and high school teachers. The website will provide information on campus life at each university, career paths after graduation from the Faculty of Science, and the fascinating aspect of the Faculty of Science.
