The "Mainichi Earth Future Award" (sponsored by Mainichi Shimbun) is an award given to people who are making steady efforts to pass domestic and international issues in the fields of "food," "water," and "environment," in order to leave a good environment for future children. The program recognizes the activities of grassroots civic groups and young people, including elementary, junior high, high school, and university students, and supports their activities by giving them cash prizes.
