The Recurrent Education Unit at the Educational Development Center, Organization for Educational Innovation, Hokkaido University, will be holding a screening of the films "Run! Run, Run, Melos!" and "Melos and Friends," followed by a Q&A session.
"Run! Run, Run, Melos!" and "Melos and Friends" are documentary films that follow four high school students who experienced theater for the first time in the summer of 2021, while the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic were still being felt, at the branch school of Mitoya High School in Unnan City, in eastern Shimane Prefecture.
In addition to winning four awards, including the Special Jury Prize, at the 14th Shimokitazawa Film Festival, it also received a Special Award from the Ueda Castle Town Film Festival Executive Committee and was selected for the Tokyo Documentary Film Festival 2022, generating buzz at film festivals throughout Japan.
Following the film screening, there will be a Q&A session with those involved in the film.
