Hokkaido University's Institute for Educational Innovation, Recurrent Education Unit/Community Manager Training Program for Supporting Coexistence (SasaPro), will be holding a "Puppet Show Workshop."
Each of us is different. The fact that we all live together seems both natural and yet strange. Why not create a puppet show that captures the reality of us living together and express it on stage?
Each puppet show created is unique, and these differences are fascinating and interesting in themselves. This workshop was designed primarily for working adults, providing a learning environment where participants can engage in hands-on activities and collaborate with the creative team to create something together.
◇◆◇ Event Information────────────
• Dates: September 25th (Fri), 26th (Sat), and 27th (Sun), 2026 (3 days)
・Friday, the 25th, 18:30-21:00
・Saturday, the 26th, 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM (including breaks)
・Sunday, the 27th: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Performance on stage with an audience: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM)
Venue: Sapporo Children's Theatre Yamabiko-za (1-1, Kita 27-jo Higashi 15-chome, Higashi-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido)
• Course fee: 5,000 yen for working adults / 1,100 yen for students (both including tax)
Students include university students, junior college students, and vocational school students.
• Working adults will be charged the adult tuition fee.
・Number of applicants: 20 (approximately 15 working adults, a few students) *First-come, first-served basis
・ People who can attend all three days of the workshop.
- University students and above (high school students not allowed)
• Application deadline: Tuesday, August 25th, noon (Applications will close once the capacity is reached)
・Applicants will receive a form for payment. Your application will be considered complete upon receipt of payment by the deadline.
◇◆◇Instructor Introduction ────────────
Noriyuki Sawa (Visiting Professor, Institute for Educational Innovation, Hokkaido University)
Born in Otaru City. Moved to France in 1991. In 1992, went to the Czech Republic as a trainee of the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Based in Prague, she has performed in various countries around the world. She also has experience teaching courses and workshops at many educational institutions, including the Czech National Academy of Performing Arts, Stanford University's Department of Drama, the University of Chicago, and the London Puppetry School.
