The East Asian Media Research Center, Graduate Research Faculty of Media and Communication Hokkaido University / the Korean Studies Center, Kyushu University,

We will be holding a dialogue at the Kyushu Forum, "Talking about the Omura Internment Camp through Art," as part of our efforts to build a new generation information dissemination platform for Koreans in Japan.

The Kitamoto Forum critically examines existing general journals for Zainichi Koreans that have been limited in incorporating the voices of Zainichi Koreans, whose generations, nationalities, and identities are increasingly diverse, and aims to create a new discourse space that transcends the framework of Zainichi Koreans.

To that end, we will organize a forum bringing together researchers, lawyers, social activists, and others to develop programs that encourage younger generations to engage in discussions.

Amidst the open advocacy of "Japanese First," it has become clear that the future of Zainichi Koreans must address not only internal generational changes but also structural shifts in Japanese society and the global world.

The experiences of journals for foreigners in Japan must be reconstructed from the perspective of all resident foreigners in Japanese society. To that end, it is necessary to convey the voices of those directly affected and to consider how they can be accepted and shared by younger generations.

In particular, we will present real-world issues facing the Korean community in Japan, such as the diversity of gender, generation, nationality, and occupation, and explore ways to resolve them.
