On April 7th, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology announced the recipients of the 2026 Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Awards in the field of science and technology. From Hokkaido University, a total of five people received awards: one for the "Science and Technology Award," three for the "Young Scientist Award," and one for the "Research Support Award."
This award recognizes individuals who have achieved outstanding results in research and development, promotion of understanding, and other related fields of science and technology. The aim is to encourage those involved in science and technology and contribute to raising the level of science and technology in Japan by commending their achievements.
