The Hokkaido University Faculty of Economics and Business Regional Economic and Management Network Research Center will hold a symposium entitled "Thinking about Hokkaido's Food - Its Appeal, Challenges, and Possibilities" on November 1st.
To commemorate the publication of "Hokkaido's Food that Attracts People," this symposium will examine the appeal and challenges of Hokkaido's food from a wide range of perspectives. Hokkaido food has a strong brand power both domestically and internationally, but many challenges remain to make it a centerpiece of customer attraction.
Each of the three speakers will raise issues from their own perspective, and we hope to delve deeper into various issues during the panel discussion.
We hope that this symposium will provide an opportunity to reaffirm the potential of Hokkaido's food, consider from multiple perspectives the conditions for "food that attracts people," and think together about the path to sustainable development for Hokkaido.
