The Hokkaido University Market Awards 2024 Executive Committee will hold the "Hokkaido University Market Awards 2024: A Bridge Between Making and Eating" on November 2nd and 3rd.
The Hokkaido University Market Awards is an event held as part of the common graduate course "Food Safety and Security Foundation Studies," and is a project to recognize those who are working on the future of agriculture, rural areas, and food production in Hokkaido and to widely publicize their activities to the world. Every year, we recognize those who are working on various themes with an eye on the future of "food and agriculture" in Hokkaido and publicize their activities.

This year marks the fourth time the awards have been held, and the theme is "Building a Bridge Between Cooking and Eating," and the awards will recognize those who passionately communicate the appeal of agriculture to consumers. At the final judging session on November 2nd, the four finalists who made it through the first round will give a presentation to determine the top prize winner. At the same time, the Hokkaido University Marche will be held, where people can have fun thinking about agriculture through the sale of Hokkaido-grown agricultural products and processed goods. The Hokkaido University Marche is an event that began in 2009 with the theme of "Hokkaido's food and agriculture to the people," and is run mainly by graduate students from Hokkaido Graduate School of Agriculture and Graduate School of Global Food Resources. Producers from all over the prefecture are invited to deliver their produce directly to consumers, creating a place where producers and consumers can interact. At this year's Hokkaido University Marche, past finalists in the Hokkaido University Marche Awards will be selling vegetables, sweets, and more.
