What led me to study: I have been interested in space since I was in elementary school, and my dream was to become a scientist like Einstein. I met my mentor at university and became involved in research investigating the properties of nanoparticles. Through interactions between researchers, I learned that cosmic dust is nano-sized, and began my own research linking these two dimensions. Having the opportunity to do research at NASA for two years and learning from a leading expert on space dust was a turning point for me as a researcher. We are currently conducting research on nanoparticle production in space, including experiments under zero gravity.

Professor Kimura's research is introduced in ``Lecture given by a Hokkaido University faculty member, ``The Earth and I are both made of star fragments. How are star fragments formed?'' *Move to Yume Navi.
