Associate Professor Yoshihiro Sakita of the Physical Faculty of Education our university, has launched a crowdfunding campaign called ``We want to deliver ``picture books to read outside'' that will help children develop their language and body!'' ' is being held until October 31st.
In this project, with your support, we aim to produce a picture book that we have planned that allows for outdoor exercise play, and deliver it to nursery schools and kindergartens. "Picture Books to Read Outside" is a unique picture book based on academic research.
According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Early Childhood Exercise Guidelines, the early childhood years of 3 to 6 years old are considered to be an extremely important period for children to acquire a variety of movements that form the basis of many of the exercises they will need throughout their lives. It is believed that engaging in sufficient physical activity centered on play during early childhood will help maintain good health and mental fulfillment throughout life, creating the foundation for a fulfilling life. However, there are fewer opportunities for children to be physically active outdoors than in the past, as there are no large playgrounds, they can only play indoors, and ball games are prohibited in parks.
That's why I came up with the idea of a picture book that can be read outdoors while having fun and exercising. In order to deliver this picture book to childcare and early childhood education sites, we are taking on the challenge of crowdfunding.
