Under a comprehensive partnership agreement with the Hokkaido Shimbun, our university is holding the "Hokudai-Doshin Academy,'' a public lecture for the local community.
We are pleased to inform you that the dates for the second half of 2023 have been decided and applications have begun.
Starting this year, "Kitadaido New Academy" will be redesigned and implemented as one of the pillars of our university's recurrent education. At the Hokkaido New Academy in the second half of 2023, the Center for Higher Legal and Political Education and Research attached to the Graduate Graduate School of Law and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine will be in charge of liberal arts and science courses, respectively.
We will start accepting new students from Tuesday, August 1, 2023. We look forward to your participation.
[Humanities course]: Compass of law: Towards the formation of a new order in global society
Events occurring around the world, such as Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the rise of the Global South, climate change, and resource issues in the East China Sea, are closely connected to our daily lives. This time, researchers from Graduate School of Law will give lectures that will provide a perspective for deeper understanding of the issues of international society that are evolving globally every day.

[Science course]: Beyond “animal doctor”
Hokkaido University School of Veterinary Medicine has a history and tradition of over 70 years. In this science course, lectures will be given by faculty members Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, who play a central role in One Health, which comprehensively considers the health of humans, animals, and the earth's environment. We will introduce a variety of cutting-edge research surrounding humans and animals, such as zoonotic diseases, the brown bear problem, and the mechanism of animal hibernation.
