Our University's Faculty of Environmental Earth Science will hold a public lecture titled "The Frontiers of Weather and Climate Research: Observation, Understanding, and the Future" from August 28th to September 25th.
Weather and climate have a major impact on daily life and the environment, sometimes causing disasters. Research on this subject is being actively pursued at research institutions around the world, including Hokkaido University. In this course, five faculty members affiliated with this research institute will utilize their respective expertise to provide an easy-to-understand introduction to the cutting edge of research. Regarding these topics, we plan to discuss the future, including observations by satellites that form the basis of global understanding, understanding brought about based on observations and simulations, and future development potential and future predictions.
