Communication in Science & Technology Education & Research Program (CoSTEP) (CoSTEP) of the Open Education Center Institute for the Advancement of Graduate Education (CoSTEP) will hold the 130th Science Cafe Sapporo "Things in the soil that you don't learn at school - The deep-rooted relationship between legumes and the earth." It will be held on July 23rd.

This time's science cafe is "HOKKAIDO BALLPARK F VILLAGE", which is familiar to Escon Field, the home of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters! The training will be held at Kubota Agri Front, an agricultural learning facility attached to this building.

The event theme is "Rhizobia." Rhizobium is a type of microorganism that lives in small galls on the roots of leguminous plants such as soybeans. We will invite Professor Takuro Shinano of our Research Faculty of Agriculture as a guest, and we plan to peer into the mysterious world beneath the soil through a microscope.
