The Hokkaido University Hospital Institute of Health Innovation for Medical Care (HELIOS) and the Institute for Vaccine Research and Development (IVReD) will co-host the 5th TSMTP Symposium on June 2 and July 7, 2023.

In the development of vaccines, the establishment of a research promotion system that takes into account rapid response in emergency situations is in progress. However, there are many aspects of vaccine development that are different from those of conventional pharmaceuticals, and the requirements of pharmaceutical regulations are also different, making it difficult for development to proceed in academia.

In this symposium, experts from the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) will be invited to discuss recent trends in vaccine development and regulatory requirements with researchers in academia to deepen understanding of regulatory requirements and points to keep in mind during development.
