The 5th TSMTP Symposium will be held on June 2nd and July 7th, co-sponsored by Hokkaido University Hospital Medical and Health Sciences Research and Development Institute (HELIOS) and Vaccine Research and Development Center (IVReD).

Regarding the development of vaccines, etc., a research promotion system is being constructed with an eye toward rapid response in emergencies. However, vaccine development differs from conventional drug development in many aspects, and the requirements under pharmaceutical regulations also differ, making it difficult to proceed with development in academia.

Therefore, we invited experts from the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency, an independent administrative agency, to exchange opinions with academic researchers about recent development trends and regulatory requirements related to vaccine development, and to deepen their understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and points to keep in mind during development. We will hold a two-part series of symposiums to deepen our understanding.
