The Department of Museum Studies, Graduate Faculty of Humanities and Human Sciences, Hokkaido University, will be holding a screening of the disaster prevention documentary film "The Yokai We Prepare With" and a lecture on disaster prevention.
Is this the first of its kind in Japan? Or the first in the world? This disaster prevention documentary film, nicknamed "Kimisona," focuses on yokai (Japanese supernatural creatures) and disaster preparedness.
Disaster preparedness often has a negative image, being perceived as "stuffy" or "troublesome." This program will explore various "disaster preparedness ideas" from a different perspective, using themes such as "cherry blossoms," "young people," and "yokai (supernatural beings)."
Why not reconsider the importance of preparedness with director Koichi Ogawa, Japan's only "disaster prevention expert who can make films"?
