A progress report meeting for the Hokkaido University Dementia Collaborative Research Project Center (established in FY2021) will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, in the main conference room School of Medicine Centennial Hall Hokkaido University School of Medicine.

This project was established in 2021 with the aim of creating a "seamless dementia research hub" that provides comprehensive support from prevention and early detection to diagnosis, treatment, care, and pathological diagnosis, against the backdrop of the urgent need for dementia countermeasures in a super-aging society. Hokkaido has one of the highest proportions of employed people aged 65 and over in the country, making it an essential issue for maintaining the social infrastructure of the region to address dementia-related diseases.

This center is developing innovative approaches in combination with the construction of a regional medical network utilizing AI and cutting-edge IT, as well as quantum technology and neuromodulation technology in collaboration with the AMED Moonshot Project. At this briefing session, we will share the latest results from each research group and discuss future developments, including industry-academia collaboration and the development of young talent.
