In April 2026, the "Uehara Hokkaido Regional Co-creation Division (nickname: X-UP)," which aims to cultivate the next generation of regional leaders in Hokkaido, was established at Hokkaido University as a new division of the Green Transformation (GX) Leading Research Center. To commemorate this, we will be holding a kick-off forum.

This forum will provide an opportunity for in-depth discussions with stakeholders and local residents about the diverse challenges facing the region, the ideal role of "regional leaders" in tackling these challenges, and how our department will engage with the region going forward. Following the forum, networking and discussion sessions will be held to further connect with participants.
