The Global Research Unit for Indigenous and Cultural Diversity (GRID) at the Ainu and Indigenous Studies Center, Hokkaido University, will host a kickoff symposium on Sunday, April 12, 2026, featuring a keynote speech entitled "Archaeology of Human Diversity" by Professor Emeritus Chris Gosden (University of Oxford).
Professor Emeritus Chris Gosden is a member of the Global Research Unit for Indigenous and Cultural Diversity (GRID) at Hokkaido University.
He is an internationally recognized researcher, serving as a member of the British Academy and a trustee of the British Museum. His specialties include archaeological theory, particularly material culture theory and colonial archaeology.
