The NPO Wood Deck will be co-hosting a symposium with the Hokkaido University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine on October 30th entitled "Understanding the Future of Environment and Health from Human and Animal Perspectives: Toward the Implementation of One Health - A Transdisciplinary Perspective Linking Environmental Pollution/Development and Health Risks."

The "One Health" approach, which considers the health of humans, animals, and the environment in an integrated manner, is evolving from a concept to a practical implementation phase. This symposium will explore approaches to unravel the often invisible "connections" between environmental pollution and health risks using interdisciplinary knowledge (ecology, medicine, industrial technology, and social sciences) and link scientific evidence to "social implementation." While considering the current state of One Health, we will explore new perspectives for "activating" One Health practices toward a "healthy society of the future"—from local to global, from animals to people, and from data to action.
