The Hokkaido University Marche Awards 2025 Executive Committee will hold the Hokkaido University Marche Awards 2025 "Changing Agriculture, the People Who Move It Forward" on October 25th and 26th.
The Hokkaido University Market Awards is an event held as part of the common graduate course "Food Safety and Security Foundation Studies," and is a project to recognize those who are working on the future of agriculture, rural areas, and food production in Hokkaido and to widely publicize their activities to the world. Every year, we recognize those who are working on various themes with an eye on the future of "food and agriculture" in Hokkaido and publicize their activities.

This year marks the fifth time the competition has been held, and the theme is "Changing Agriculture, the People Who Move It," with judging in two categories: the "Environmental Category," which looks at practicing sustainable agriculture for the future, and the "Consumer Ethics Category," which communicates value beyond price and changes consumer awareness. At the final judging session on October 25th, the finalists who made it through the first round will give presentations, and the winners for each category will be decided.

At the same time, the Hokkaido University Marche will be held, where people can have fun thinking about agriculture through the sale of Hokkaido-grown agricultural products and processed goods. The Hokkaido University Marche is an event that began in 2009 with the theme of "Hokkaido's food and agriculture to the people," and is run mainly by graduate students from Hokkaido Graduate School of Agriculture and Graduate School of Global Food Resources. Producers from all over the prefecture are invited to deliver their produce directly to consumers, creating a place where producers and consumers can interact. At this year's Hokkaido University Marche, past finalists in the Hokkaido University Marche Awards will be selling vegetables, sweets, and more.
