Hokkaido University Public Policy School (HOPS) will hold the 2025 HOPS Seminar "Creating Community Connections - Kitahiroshima Housing Complex's Community Exchange Hub" on July 24th.

Simply lamenting the declining birthrate and aging population will put the survival of the region at risk. It is essential to regenerate local connections so that local residents can solve local issues themselves, not only from the perspective of comprehensive community care and a community-based society, but also from the perspective of regional revitalization and revitalization of local communities. In Kitahiroshima housing complex, in the face of issues of loneliness and isolation, a place for local interaction was created where local residents could work on solving local issues as "citizen staff" rather than "citizen volunteers." Learn about an example of "community design" filled with passion. You will realize that "you can do it if you try (even if you're not a professional)."
