The Peace Days 2025 Executive Committee will be holding a book review contest from July 1st to September 20th.
The East Asia Media Studies Center of Research Faculty of Media and Communication, Hokkaido University, is sponsoring this competition.
What is war? Why does it happen? The opposite of war is peace? What do young people think about "war and peace," a topic that adults still worry about today?
This year marks 80 years since we vowed not to wage war. We wanted to hear what young people feel and think. Please use "It's Our War" as a starting point to write a message about your thoughts on war and peace. We look forward to hearing from you.
- Date: July 1st to September 20th, 2025 (deadline, postmark valid)
- Book to read: "It's Our War" by Genichiro Takahashi (Asahi Shinsho)
- Eligible applicants: Junior high school students to 25 years old. Residents or natives of Hokkaido.
- Writing instructions: 1000-2000 characters
