Hokkaido University and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "NTT") will be demonstrating remote agricultural technology as part of the smart agriculture technology exhibition during the "Future of Food and Lifestyle Week" (held from June 8th (Sun) to June 15th (Sun)) at the 2025 World Expo, Japan (hereinafter referred to as the Expo).

The Expo site and Hokkaido University, located approximately 1,200 km apart, will be connected by the IOWN APN (Ion All-Photonics Network), a next-generation network provided by the NTT Group that enables low-latency, high-volume communications, making it possible to remotely monitor and control the robot tractor at Hokkaido University's farm from the Expo site without any sense of distance.
