Faculty of Fisheries Sciences at Hokkaido University will hold the 2025 Hokkaido University School of Fisheries Sciences Open Lecture Series, "Science of the Whole Ocean!" from June 14th to July 26th.
School of Fisheries Sciences, Hokkaido University, is engaged in education and research in "Comprehensive science (biology, chemistry, physics, engineering) in the ocean, rivers, and lakes." In this open lecture, we will introduce the diverse research content being conducted at School of Fisheries Sciences Hokkaido University.
This year's theme will be "Changes in the marine environment, including global warming, and the response of aquatic organisms," and based on research conducted by School of Fisheries Sciences' training ship, there will be four lectures in total to introduce changes in the marine environment in southern Hokkaido, the resources and ecology of squid and salmon that are familiar to Hakodate, and the current state of Hokkaido's fishery resources and the changes in them.
