Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) and Hokkaido University have begun a joint research project based on a shared vision, with the aim of realizing the primary industries of the future.

Japan's primary industries continue to face labor shortages due to population decline and aging. In addition, global warming has become more evident in recent years, and agriculture has a significant impact on the global environment. In order to solve these issues and continue primary industries, Hokkaido University and NTT have set a vision of realizing a "future primary industry model" that enables ultra-low-labor, high-quality, sustainable production, and will conduct research in collaboration with research institutions in various fields.
