The International Foster Care Alliance (IFCA), a nonprofit organization, and the Hokkaido University Child Development and Clinical Research Center will hold a seminar entitled "Considering the progression and retention of people with a history of foster care into higher education - Learning from Fostering Higher Education in the United States" on December 6th.
After summarizing the relocation and associated difficulties that occur when former foster children in Hokkaido advance to higher education, we will invite Amy Salazar, developer of Fostering Higher Education, a program that has been implemented in the United States to support students moving on to higher education, to learn about the program and consider what kind of initiatives are needed in Hokkaido.
