The Hokkaido University Center for Ainu and Indigenous Studies, in collaboration with the Hokkaido Diocese of the Anglican Church in Japan, will be holding a lecture series entitled "Ainu and Christianity" from May to October.

It has been 150 years since the Anglican Missionary Society (CMS) began its missionary activities in Hokkaido. We are holding this series of lectures to look back from various perspectives on the relationship between Christianity and the Ainu people, who have lived through a history of hardship in the rough seas of modernization, and to learn together how we should think and live in order to respect each other's existence as human beings and create a truly multicultural society.

You can attend the course online or in person. You can also attend all five sessions or choose the sessions that interest you.
