Hokkaido University Museum will hold the second Saturday Public Seminar, "Tsunami Science and Disaster Prevention - Learning from the Tohoku Earthquake Tsunami and the Noto Peninsula Earthquake Tsunami" on May 11th.

The lecturer for this public seminar will be Professor Yasunori Watanabe Faculty of Engineering. Using examples of past tsunamis such as the Tohoku earthquake tsunami and the Noto Peninsula earthquake tsunami, he will explain the characteristics of tsunami generation, development, and run-up onto land, and consider protection and evacuation measures for future tsunamis.
