Institute of Low Temperature Science, Hokkaido University will hold a public symposium on March 14th titled ``Forecasting Ocean and Sea Ice Changes in the Area Around the World Natural Heritage Site Shiretoko and Their Impact on the Marine Ecosystem.''

This symposium was commissioned by the Ministry of the Environment and the Japan Environmental Restoration and Conservation Agency (Germany), and was commissioned by the Environmental Research Comprehensive Promotion Fund. This is based on the results of "variable risk assessment."
