THE サステイナビリティインパクトレーティング

「THEサステイナビリティインパクトレーティング（THE Sustainability Impact Ratings）」とは、イギリスの高等教育専門誌「Times Higher Education（THE：ティー・エイチ・イー）」による大学の社会貢献度をSDGsの枠組みで評価する国際的な評価制度です。2019年に「THE インパクトランキング（THE Impact Rankings）」として開始され、2026年から「THEサステイナビリティインパクトレーティング（THE Sustainability Impact Ratings）」へ名称が変更されました。

世界7位（7年連続国内1位）にランクイン

「THEサステイナビリティインパクトレーティング2026」において、北海道大学は、総合ランキングで対象となった世界1603大学中、世界7 位、7年連続国内1位を獲得しました。

SDG別ランキングにおいては、17のSDG目標のうち、「SDG2 飢餓をゼロに」が世界731大学中2位と高い評価を得ました。また、「SDG9 産業と技術革新の基盤をつくろう」（世界36位）、「SDG11 住み続けられるまちづくりを」（同41位）、「SDG14 海の豊かさを守ろう」（同21位）、「SDG15 陸の豊かさも守ろう」（同18位）、「SDG16 平和と公正をすべての人に」(同21位)、「SDG17 パートナーシップで目標を達成しよう」（同31位）が世界100位以内にランクインしました。SDG15は5年連続で国内1位、SDG2・SDG14・SDG16・SDG17の4目標はいずれも2年連続で国内1位を獲得しました。さらに、「SDG7 エネルギーをみんなにそしてクリーンに」と「SDG12 つくる責任つかう責任」においても、国内他大学とならび国内1位となりました。

世界100位以内にランクインした目標

Hokkaido University ranked 7th in the world in “THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026”

Times Higher Education, a UK-based higher education magazine, announced the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 on June 24, 2026. THE Sustainability Impact Ratings assess universities’ contributions to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), evaluating participating institutions based on submitted data and external sources. THE Impact Rankings were launched in 2019, and it was renamed THE Sustainability Impact Ratings this year.

Hokkaido University is ranked 7th in the world and has been first in Japan for the seventh consecutive year, out of the 1,603 universities included in the overall ranking.

Of the 17 SDG targets, Hokkaido University received a particularly high recognition for SDG 2: Zero Hunger, ranking 2nd out of 731 universities worldwide. In addition, the university was ranked within the global top 100 in the following categories: SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (36th); SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities (41st); SDG 14: Life Below Water (21st); SDG 15: Life on Land (18th); SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (21st); SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals (31st). The university ranked first in Japan for SDG 15 for the fifth consecutive year, and ranked first in Japan for four other goals—SDG 2, SDG 14, SDG 16, and SDG 17—for the second consecutive year. Furthermore, the university shared the top ranking with other Japanese universities for “SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy” and “SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.”
