School of Education

The SDGs are supported by the principle (human security) that all people should be freed from poverty and fear and have equal opportunities to develop their potential. This ideal cannot be realized without education (SDG4 – Inclusive, equitable and quality education for all).

School of Education cooperates with investigations by the Cabinet Office and others, and proposes solutions to problems related to the human development of children and young people, such as bullying, refusal to attend school, and social withdrawal. Regarding child and family poverty issues, we have made policy recommendations based on large-scale fact-finding surveys (SDG2 - End all poverty). Based on such research, we are also developing a new system that integrates education and welfare. We are also conducting research on support for achieving physical and mental health (SDG3 - Good health and well-being), and research on capacity development and equality of working people (SDG5 - Achieving gender equality). Regarding ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) to achieve the SDGs, we are collaborating with overseas universities and organizing special programs to visit each other's universities.

In this way, our faculty aims to foster the next generation of leaders who will achieve the SDGs from an international perspective. Graduates are active in companies and local governments for "human security", but there are also many people who organize NPOs and take on the challenge of creating a new society. Our website: Group of People introduces graduates who are promoting the revitalization of depopulated areas through educational activities. We welcome everyone who is trying to creatively solve the discomfort of the current society together with people around the world.
