Hokkaido University conducts a lot of research on the sea and living things. We are also conducting research on practical science (fishery) that uses it. Promoting sustainable fisheries contributes to ending poverty and hunger while preserving the abundance of the oceans. In order to protect the richness of the sea, it is essential to investigate the marine environment. Marine bioresources contain many components that help us maintain and improve our health. There are many research themes that can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. We aim to develop many researchers who will work towards achieving the SDGs in the future. Therefore, LASBOS, a group of online teaching materials for learning about the sea and living things, collects and disseminates information on education and research related to the SDGs.
