The Earthquake and Volcano Research Observation Center attached to Faculty of Science of our university will hold the 2023 public lecture "Earthquakes and disaster prevention in Hokkaido" on December 2nd and 9th.

While Hokkaido is blessed with a rich land, it has also experienced many earthquake disasters. The 2023 public lecture "Earthquakes and Disaster Prevention in Hokkaido" will include five lectures over two days that will lead to regional disaster prevention. We will comprehensively cover ``earthquake and tsunami disaster preparedness,'' including basic knowledge about earthquakes and tsunamis, disaster prevention measures against earthquakes and tsunamis, utilization of disaster-related information, and responses after disasters occur.
