This special open class was an open lecture on the lecture ``Mini Publics and Design for Participation and Deliberation'' held at CoSTEP. Associate Professor Naoyuki Mikami Institute for the Advancement of Higher Education (at the time) gave a lecture on the potential and practice of mini-publics that connect science, technology and society. As an example of "design" for practicing science and technology communication, I explained the randomly selected citizen assembly (mini-publics) that has been widely used as a method of public participation in science and technology. In addition, the lecture also introduced the latest trends of the Citizens' Climate Conference and the efforts of Associate Professor Mikami and others to introduce it domestically.
