The Science Council of Japan's "Future Science Promotion Plan (2023 Edition)" has been released. In this plan, in Grand Vision 11 "Future society opened up by mathematics, mathematical science, and quantum information science," our university's Research Institute for Electronic Science proposed No. 87 "Comprehensive knowledge that intersects mathematics and mathematical science." "Academic Research Center" was selected.

This proposal is based on the ``Grand Vision'' for academic promotion formulated by the Science Council of Japan with an eye toward the next 20 to 30 years, and the ``Mid- to Long-term Academic Research Strategy'' proposed from the perspective of realizing this vision.

At Research Institute for Electronic Science, we are building a new academic research base, the Knowledge Open Facility, to advance comprehensive knowledge research that integrates the arts and sciences by intersecting mathematics and mathematical sciences, and moving from the pursuit of individual academic research to solving social issues. We propose that we invite a paradigm shift in the world and create breakthroughs that will contribute to improving the long-term quality of human life through comprehensive knowledge.
