Our university's Field Science Center for Northern Biosphere Nakagawa Research Forest will be co-hosting the "Bikki Tree Gathering" with Eco Museum Osashima Center on October 21st.

A large red spruce stands tall beside the forest road in the Yokojima Wilderness Preservation Area of our university's Nakagawa Research Forest. It is said that the late sculptor Bikki Sunazawa, who moved to Yokoshima in 1978, loved this tree so much that it started to be called ``Bikki's Tree'' by the second year he moved there. This year, the program will consist of two parts: in the morning, you will take a walk to the "Bikki Tree", and in the afternoon, you will enjoy viewing Bikki Sunazawa's works with explanations from the honorary director of Ecomuseum Osashima Center. *Morning and Afternoon It is also possible to participate in only one of the sections.
