Our Institute for the Advancement of Graduate Education (sponsor) and Slavic-Eurasian Research Center (co-sponsor) will hold a lecture entitled ``What people living in Ukraine think now - Why is the war going to last a long time?'' on October 12th.

The lecturer will be Nao Okano, a journalist who visited wartime Ukraine, met citizens from all walks of life, and saw what was happening on the ground. We will delve into the reality of the war and the inner lives of Ukrainians. Let us also use this "war based on narrative" as an opportunity to reconsider the role played by Ukrainian consciousness, identity, and language, and to consider the feasibility of an "immediate ceasefire."
