Science, technology and innovation are now positioned as important growth engines in Japan's growth strategy. Society strongly demands the creation of innovation through collaboration between universities and society, or in other words, the integration of Excellence and Extension.
Future Strategy for the 150th Anniversary of Hokkaido University, established by our university in 2014, sets the target year as 2026 and presents the vision for Hokkaido University. This time, in response to self-analysis and societal expectations regarding university innovation as described above, HU VISION 2030 has set the target year of 2030, four years ahead, to clearly visualize "Excellence" and "Extension" and to This represents Hokkaido University's medium-term vision for creating a virtuous cycle and ecosystem through integration.

This HU VISION 2030 outlines the basic policies for devising Hokkaido University's leading initiatives toward 2030: 1. Education, 2. Research, 3. Co-creation with society, 4. International collaboration, and 5. We provide a high-resolution presentation from eight perspectives: diversity, 6. governance, 7. financial foundation, and 8. pursuit of sustainability.
Looking ahead to 2030, Hokkaido University will establish the Novel Japan University Model through HU VISION 2030 and move forward strongly toward realizing the world's common goal of a "sustainable well-being society."
