Our University's Faculty of Economics and Business will hold a public lecture titled ``Current Economics Research'' on September 23rd and 24th.

The theme for 2020 is "Modern Economic Research." There are many problems facing modern society, such as environmental issues, poverty issues, declining birthrates, budget deficits, disruption of production and supply chains due to Covid-19, soaring resource prices due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and SDGs. Economics knowledge is needed to solve these problems, such as carbon neutrality and global warming, but despite decades of research and discussion, there are still problems that have not yet been solved. I feel like I haven't even found a clue.
Therefore, in this course, we have lecturers who are leading researchers in each field, and we have set four topics: (1) Mathematical models of payment and financial crises, (2) International trade and income inequality, (3) Introduction to social selection theory, and (4) Occupations and wages. Did. I would like to think about current issues in Japan and society together with you.
