Hokkaido University Institute for the Advancement of Sustainability SDGs Initiative Office collaborated with Hokkaido Broadcasting Corporation (HBC) to hold an event titled “Hokkaido University x HBC “SDGs University in JT Forest Shakotan – The Connection of Life between Forests and Rivers”” It will be held on Sunday (Saturday).

This year's theme is "The connection between forests and rivers." The setting is Shakotan town, about 100 kilometers away from our university's Sapporo campus. Learn about the connection between the JT Forest Shakotan and the living creatures of the Yobetsu River that flows through the forest by observing river creatures.

Event overview

Date and time: Saturday, August 19, 2023, 8:00 a.m. (meeting in front of HBC headquarters) - Field work in Shakotan town - Scheduled to return to Sapporo around 5:00 p.m.

Location: JT Forest Shakotan (Yobetsu District, Shakotan Town) *You will be transferred from HBC Head Office by bus chartered by HBC.

Target audience: 5th graders and above. If there are too many applicants, a lottery will be held.

Participation Fee: Free for the in-class sessions.
