The 63rd Clock Tower Salon “Let’s Ask the School of Agriculture” will be held on June 14, 2023.
The Research Faculty of Agriculture of Hokkaido University has been holding the Clock Tower Salon at the Sapporo Clock Tower (official name: the old Sapporo Agricultural College Embujo.) The theme of the 63rd session is “Parasites of Reluctant Plants.”
Agricultural crops are always at risk of diseases (abnormal growth caused by parasites of other organisms, etc.). And even on a global scale, such damage is devastating. Effective control of plant diseases is extremely important in terms of stable food production and reduction of environmental impact. In this salon, two professors who have long studied plant diseases caused by fungi, which are currently at issue, have been invited. They will present their findings on the disease and its countermeasures from various angles.
