Startup entrepreneurs, local stakeholders, and global investors met up at Sapporo’s landmark, Sapporo TV Tower, for the TechBBQ Sapporo event. Hokkaido University members, namely students who have their fair share of experience in entrepreneurship, also took stage in this event.

Spotlight on Research: Safety first in snow clearing works using AI-enabled technology

Associate Professor Takanori Emaru (Laboratory of Precision Metrology and Robotics, Graduate School of Engineering) is developing all sorts of apparatus to enhance its safety. The article shows Emaru’s project concerning the development of a robust, AI-enabled human-detection sensor for snowplows in joint research.
